Dinos on the Brain

So we went to the McCall Winter Festival today which was a lot of fun and I will post the pictures soon. One funny moment came when we told Casey we were going to walk to the Carnival. He looked at us a little funny for a minute and then wanted to know which ones we would see. I had no idea what he was asking and then he asked which carnivores we were going to see. It took me a minute more to put it together...he loves dinosaurs and misheard carnival thinking it was carnivores. What Casey hears and puts together makes me smile.

Its Friday

Happy Friday.

This is what Brent woke up to on Wednesday. Not one but two coffee pots full and ready to drink. Now there is a good reason for this and its not that I need this much coffee to get going. We have had the pot on the left for almost six years and I got it in the mail for free. It made great coffee until Wednesday morning when it decided to leak coffee all over the place. So I pulled out the one on the left and am not sure I like it. It has a strange smell when it makes coffee...not sure if its just because its new or the pot is just a bust. It does make good coffee, so we will just have to wait and see.

Last night for dinner I made a yummy dinner. I took chunks of boneless pork ribs and put them in the crock pot, then cut up an onion, some garlic and carrots and put them on the pork. As far as liquid, I mixed a little sweet and sour sauce, white wine, and water and poured it over the mixture. I then sprinkled it with a little cumin and covered it. Then cooked it for about 5 hours on low. I served it with salad, pineapple and rice that was mixed with peas. Casey loves pork cooked this way and it always happy with rice and soy sauce. He did want to know why I messed up the rice with peas but that was about the only miss step with the meal. I love having a stress free meal with Casey.
After dinner we always play a game of some kind. The funny thing is Casey loves to play poker. Five card stud, Texas hold-em or high card. The sad thing is he almost always wins. Last night he had a royal flush and in the next hand had a full house. Maybe we should get him to play for money. :)
I am going to start a new bible study next Thursday. Its a Beth Moore study and its going to be at the church that is very close to our house...a big plus for getting Casey to and from school. It will also be nice to have something to do daily.
Have a great weekend all who read this blog. Hopefully I will get better about updating.
