Are you True Gold or Fools Gold.

Are you living a life of True Gold or Fools Gold?

The next time you are by a river, look down you might see something shiny in the water. Could it be the most precious metal of all - Gold. Reach down and pick up the little piece of something and take it with you. Once home take it to a jewelry shop to find out what it is. After waiting at the shop the jeweler comes back to tell you its only fools gold. It looks very lovely from the outside but will only crumble into nothing when pressure is applied. Thinking about my live and all the trials I have faced I started to think how wonderful it would be to live a life more like True Gold than Fools Gold.

True gold only gets more lovely and priceless as it is put to the fire and then pounded into something special. Fools gold does not withstand the test of time and will be destoyed.

Fools gold will crumble if pressure is applied. However, true gold will conform as needed. This allows for a hunk of gold to be made into rings, bracelets, necklaces and so much more. If we try to live a life of fools gold we will crumble when the Lord tried to form out lives into something wonderful for him

Fire is very important to make gold wonderful. Each fire causes more and more impurities to rise to the surface so it can be removed, leaving nothing but pure gold behind. All the trials we must endure in life causes our impurities to come to the surface so Christ can remove them.

How wonderful it would be to not have trials, pressures, heartaches and sorrows, but without them our lives would be empty. Fools gold looks wonderful but it has no value. I want a live that has true value and is not just pretty from the outside.

So this is what happens when I have time on my hands and I let my mind wonder. :)

Happings on the Crumley Front

Nothing major has been going on with us...just the same old things that make life go by. It amazing that its already March of 2011 and even harder to believe its been almost 9 months since my dear daddy passed. I don't know how I feel about that one but that's the way it is.
Here are a few pictures from our trip to the McCall Winter Festival.
Its amazing what they can do with snow and ice and a chisel. Casey loved the trip and very much enjoyed playing in the snow.
Now that the weather is getting nicer we have been able to get over some of the cabin fever. After school on nice days we have been stopping by our local park and Casey has been playing for a good hour. I bring Buddy and then switch between Caseys new bike and his scooter. Here he is on his new bike. Its in the house in a box because the weather was rainy on the day he got it. Since Brent has been doing some bike riding in the house, for training, Casey wanted to try it. Not as much fun as outside but it worked for a few minutes.
Here are just a couple pictures I wanted to throw in...
Our version of snowflakes...
I asked Casey if he enjoyed the chocolate he ate, he told me he didn't have any, to bad it got all over his face. :)
Today is another rainy day so I decided to try and finish my latest craft project. I wanted to put new curtains in Caseys room but he didn't know what kind of fabric he wanted, there was spider man, race cars and army pattern. Since its his room, I gave him the option of doing all three. I am not good with the sewing machine but this is what we came up with. Its his room so I really don't mind that it does not match or anything. But Casey loves it.
Yesterday I decided to try a new dessert...pineapple upside down cake. I have never made it before but figured I would give it a try. I used a pineapple cake mix and on the side was a recipe for it. Very easy and very good. Yes this cake is usually not a double layer but that was another twist I made. I used half pineapple juice and half water, eggs and yogurt. Then in the pans I placed the butter and brown sugar and since I was out of pineapple rings I used pineapple chunks. Baked it as directed and when it was done I made it a double layer cake. It turned out so good and moist. Its going to be a new favorite in our house.
That's about all for now folks.
