What a great day

What a great day Casey and I have had. We went to the Farmers Market this morning here in Boise. It was such a nice morning to be out and the market was not very busy which made it very nice. I love going down there and just checking out the vendors and getting ideas and samples of their wonderful goods. Then after that we headed to the park for a little picnic. I could not believe how well Casey ate considering all the toys around. We didn't do much but thats what made it so much fun. Tomorrow should be another fun day, my parents are headed over to bring my sister back. She will stay here tonight and then fly back to New Jersey tomorrow. But it will be fun to have her here for the short time.

What a Trip

We made it back from Boston and what a great time it was. It was amazing how many people were there to cheer on the race. I was able to get to a great stop to watch, right at the finish. I was able to see the mens and womens winners along with Lance Armstrong and Team Hoyt. The best part was being able to see Brent finish. Sadly I only saw him as he pasted but I was still able to snap a fast picture. We then headed back to the hotel for a small party for the HP runners. Even though it was such a fast trip we still were able to go to Cheers and walk around the park, both of which were a lot of fun.
I will try and post a few pictures from the trip when I get a moment.

I now have three year old. The day we got back from the trip Casey turned three. We were able to have little party for him that night which was nice from him. Brent was a little sore but nothing over the top. Now its just trying to back into the swing of things...

Boston Here We Come

The time is here...we are headed to Boston. My mom is watching Casey and Brent and I are headed to Boston. He is going to run in the marathon on Monday. It should be a lot of fun. A little strange to be without Casey for that long but still a lot of fun. I do wish we could stay back there for more than just a couple days but it will still be a blast. Then when we get back Casey is turing three. Its hard to believe he is getting so old.

Taco Soup

I have found a great meal for a lazy Saturday. Yesterday fit that bill to a T. The weather could not decide if it wanted to be warm and we nothing major planned. If your looking for a good soup try Bear Creek Taco Soup. In fact I love most all the Bear Creek items, they have a very good chili. But the soup is my new favorite. All you really have to do is add a water and cook for about 10 minutes. But I love to add my own touch to a recipe. So last night I threw in a can of diced tomatoes, whole corn and black beans. Then Casey and I made tortilla chips from corn tortillas. I love making chips now...you can flavor them anyway you want and when you cook them in the oven you love a lot of fat and calories. Serve the meal with cheese, salsa and sour cream and you have a wonderful comfort food dinner. But a great bonus is you can get a lot of veggies into the kids.

Now a completely different subject, I found two websites that I have come to love. http://www.uncommongoods.com/ and http://www.wrapables.com/jsp/Home.jsp They have great stuff for home, office, kitchen and great gifts. Stuff that is out of the ordinary without being to out there.

Answers

Found out today how Casey did on his test for the school preschool program. He no longer qualifies, he is in the 55% for his understanding and in the 45% for his speech. That means he is no longer in the percentile for being in the school. I am a little torn about it. I would have loved for him to be able to have the advantage of being around the other kids and getting use to the school schedule. On the other hand I am so happy that he has advanced as much as he has. Now we have to figure out what to do. Do we put him in preschool or try to find another kind of social activites for him? I am leaning towards the latter of the two. I have a hard time spending the money for a preschool would rather find some books or things that I can do at home to get him ready for school. Now with all that said his weekly theropist said there was one more test to try and see if he would still qualify. I also have a meeting with the school on Tuesday, at least I think I still have a meeting with them, we will have to see. I would love to see if they could do a part time program...two days a week. I love getting answers but then more questions follow.
